The Mani offers one of the most beautiful coastline landscapes in Greece.
Staying here is an experience worth having, because this variety of beaches, quaint villages, quiet places on the mountains and coasts is rarely found all in one place.
Since the journey to Mani is not so easy, but we still want it to be a relaxed journey for you, we have set up a special service for our customers.

The most comfortable and relaxing option: transport arranged by Mani - Sonnenlink
This option is especially recommended for shorter stays (2-8 - days)

Here is all the information needed to travel on your own:
Car and ferryboat:
Take the ferry from Ancona, Venice or Triest to Patras. Drive from Patras by car towards Pyrgos Elias, then Zacharo and Kyparissia. Shortly before Kyparissia turn left towards Kalamata.
In Kalamata, follow directions below.
Driving time is approximately 3.5 hours.

Flight:
Today, the new Athens airport offers complete services. At the airport, you can take the bus (about 7 hours), a rental car, a taxi or a group-taxi to get here (about 4.5 hours to Mani.)
Taxi: see above. Special prices for Taxi needs to be arranged by us.

Car rental: The best option is to take a taxi, and once you’ve arrived here, rent a car . This is slightly more expensive than renting a car in Athens but much more convenient. Should you choose this option, we will be happy to arrange on-site car rental right here at the house.

Bus from Athens: Take the airport shuttle which leaves every 30 minutes for the "Kifissou" bus station that serves all the Peloponnese destinations.
From there, buses leave regularly about every 1.5 hour for Kalamata.
From Kalamata buses to the Mani are not very frequent - (a taxi hire will cost about 35 €)
Departure Times: at 14:00 there is a direct bus from Athens (Kifissou bus station) to Itilo. You can disembark in Stoupa, from where we will be glad to pick you up.
The trip from Kalamata to Stoupa lasts about 1 hour.

By car from Athens:

From the airport take the "Attiki Odos" to Elefsina (the ring road bypassing Athens !!!), and then stay on the highway to Corinth, Tripoli. where it ends. It will take about 2 hours.

From Tripoli: the road continues through the mountains. You will reach us in about another 2,5 hours. (1.5 hours to Kalamata, then 1 hour to the Mani and us).

From Kalamata: About 3 km before Kalamata, a four lane highway will take you into the city where you will come to a intersection with a stoplight. Follow the signs to Kardamili, Stoupa, Areopolis. Soon you will be moving along a coastal road called Navarinou Street.

Continue driving along the coast leaving Kalamata behind. After about 3 km, you will see the "Messinian Bay" hotel on your right. This is where the road splits. Heed the sign at the intersection and go left on a winding road through the hills, towards Kardamili, Stoupa, Areopolis.
Driving time from Kalamata to us is approximately one hour.

200 meters after Stoupa you’ll come to an intersection with a sign pointing left to Neochori, Pyrgos and Kastania and a Bläuel/Sonnenlink sign. Turn left. Sonnenlink is between the villages of Neochori and Pyrgos, on the right side of the road. You’ll see a Sonnenlink sign at the gate.
